The new Aged Care Act delayed to 1 November 2025

Some breathing room. Here’s how we’re using it.

After months (or let’s be honest – years) of relentless work preparing for July, the news came through the other day:

The new Aged Care Act – including the Strengthened Standards, Support at Home changes, and Fee reforms – will now commence from 1 November 2025.

For many, this brought a sigh of relief (and maybe some mild frustration with budgets already approved and price notices already sent). But overall, it’s a welcome chance to breathe. And you’ve earned it. For our part, this extra time means we can now support Providers we simply haven’t had the capacity to reach. If that was you – thank you for your patience.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be checking in with those mid-prep and rebooking work where you were squeezed for time or waiting for space. Once you’ve come up for air, here’s where many providers are focusing next:

Fees, Contributions & Means Testing Education
We’ve found these changes have been somewhat overlooked or put on the back burner, but they are extensive. If your finance team has been deep in Support at Home transition instead, now’s a great time to book this Education in.

Support at Home
What a mad dash to the finish line for such significant changes – yet for many, it’s just the beginning.

Our Support at Home & Finance Specialists and Project & Change Managers are helping Providers to:

  • Close revenue leakages and uncover new opportunities
  • Optimise profitability across programs
  • Redesign pricing and operating models ahead of the transition
  • Plan and execute software / systems transitions
  • Manage implementation and change with experienced Project & Change Managers

Strengthened Standards
Now’s a great time for a checkpoint: no scramble, just progress.

Our Clinical & Quality Specialists are supporting providers to:

  • Turn CI Plans into meaningful, embedded practice
  • Deliver Gaps Analysis (full, partial, or a quick health check – whatever’s needed)
  • Mentor teams to build capability and confidence
  • Provide hands-on support – Quality Coordinators, Managers, Project & Change Managers – to assist with documentation, implementation, and systems transitions
