Introduction
Another rate change, another AN-ACC rates article!
We saw an increase to the AN-ACC Starting Price from $282.44 to $295.64 (4.67% increase) and an increase to the Hotelling Supplement from $15.60 to $22.15 (41.98% increase) per Resident, per day. Reasons for this significant increase include:
- Fair Work Commission’s wage increases for direct care workers, RNs and ENs from October 1 2025.
- Annual Wage Review for all aged care workers.
Funding for Outbreak Management costs will be rolled into the AN-ACC price (currently $1.65 per resident, per day).

Hotelling Supplement / Contribution
The Hotelling Supplement has a significant increase from $15.60 to $22.15 from 1 October 2025. The Hotelling Supplement will continue to be indexed on September 20 each year following advice from IHACPA.
It is important to note as well that from 1 November, residents that enter care or opt in to the new Aged Care Reforms will start paying a Hotelling Supplement Contribution to assist with these everyday living costs. It is important to inform your prospective residents of these changes to the contribution amount to make them aware of this significant increase if they are to enter after 1 November 2025.
Aged Care Outbreak Management Support Supplement (ACOMS)
Also mentioned above was that the Outbreak Management Support Supplement will be rolled into the AN-ACC funding from 1 October 2025. You will no longer see this paid as a separate line item on your payment statement. The increase to the AN-ACC Starting Price includes the $1.65 of the daily supplement rate previously paid.
What do all these changes mean for you?
This is a complex and not-straightforward round of indexation. Whilst there’s been an increase to the Starting Price, as well as increases to the Hotelling Supplement. The roll-up of ACOMS into the Starting Price, changes to NWAU and Care Minutes and Fair Work considerations means that your previously budget forecasts may need to be revisited or reworked. The funding changes are only one part of this significant update.
