Navigating the significant changes coming on July 1

As we gear up for a busy 2025, I wanted to share some highlights from our Business Services Team that I’m incredibly proud of. We’ve loved collaborating with you all, especially navigating the significant changes coming on July 1. Here are a few examples of how we’ve been supporting the industry recently:

1. Outsourced Finance Team

In December, two providers faced unexpected departures within their finance teams, leaving critical tasks like claims, billing, month-end reporting, and board reporting hanging in the balance. Our team stepped in to swiftly piece together processes and ensure everything was completed on time. For one, we also assisted with the Stage 3 Aged Care Wage Rise changes. Now, we’re helping map, document, and improve their systems while mentoring their new hires to build resilience for the future.

2. Support at Home Preparation

The upcoming Home Care changes have sparked a lot of interest—and rightly so. These changes will heavily impact profitability and require strategic planning to adapt business models successfully. We’re currently helping providers:

  • Close revenue leakages and identify revenue opportunities
  • Optimise profitability
  • Strategically prepare pricing and operating models to transition smoothly into the new system

3. Digital Transformation

The appetite for digital transformation is stronger than ever. We’ve been working with providers to:

  • Consolidate existing systems and eliminate redundancies
  • Prepare systems for the July 1 changes (Support at Home, SACQS, and Residential Fees)
  • Automate processes, reduce double-handling, and boost overall efficiency

4. Room Pricing and Competitiveness

Providers have been asking us to review their current room pricing and competitiveness in their region. With the maximum room price (without approval) now increased to $750,000 and ahead of RAD retentions kicking in, it’s the perfect time to get started.

Thank you to everyone we’ve partnered with on these projects so far. It’s been incredibly rewarding to help you tackle these challenges head-on.

If you’d like to discuss how any of these services could benefit your organisation, I’d love to chat.
