In many Aged Care roles, a typical week can be very reactive with many organisational, resident and people challenges. In this role, you don’t have the day-to-day chaos of normal Aged Care roles as you have well-designed services, processes and systems in place, along with subject matter experts and most supportive team you can ask for who support every step of the way. A typical week can commonly look like the following:
- Travelling to an Aged Care facility, if close to home, you enjoy a home placement however if regional or interstate travel, you will drive or fly out Monday and back home on Friday each week.
- Building relationships with clients, understanding the challenges they face in the ever-changing landscape of aged care.
- Being an expert resource to support clients with their needs which might be Clinical & AN-ACC, Strengthened Standards or being an extra set hands on a project or short-term locum support in a specific clinical role
- Using your clinical Aged Care skills to comprehensively assess residents, write remarkable assessments, ensure all documentation and care planning is in place
- Practically apply knowledge of the strengthened aged care quality standards through audits, writing reports and delivering education (we will teach you everything you need to know about strengthened standards)
- Work on clinical projects with clients or act in key clinical roles for a short time, however, know you have all the support around you with a team when in locum roles and we always set clear boundaries of what we do and don’t do.
